More Than $200,000 in Recycling Grants Awarded to Berks

          Harrisburg, October 17, 2007 -- State Senator Michael A. O’Pake today announced that twelve Berks County municipalities have been awarded Recycling Performance Grants totaling $204,603 by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Senator O’Pake explained that eligibility for this grant funding is based on the total tons of materials recycled in a municipality and a municipality’s overall recycling rate.
          According to Senator O’Pake, the following municipalities received grants:

          Senator O’Pake noted that the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is authorized to provide these grant funds by the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
