"The O’Pake Science Center is a testament to Senator O’Pake’s vision...  The name of the Center also speaks to his lifelong record of service to the people and organizations of Greater Reading and to strengthening all services and programs offered within our higher education community.”

Saying he was "humbled" by the naming of the building, Sen. O'Pake spoke to the importance of science and technology training:

"This new science center provides us a platform from which to train the next crop of doctors, scientists, researchers, and clinicians, who will not only be leaders in their respective disciplines, but leaders in their communities."
