Our Commonwealth's capital has many beautiful and interesting sites to visit.
A
free guided tour of our Capitol is available Monday through Friday each half
hour from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday tours available each
hour 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The State Museum of
Pennsylvania is open (with no entrance fee) Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m., Sunday 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and is closed on Mondays except for
April and May (to accommodate the large school groups).
The self-guided tour is
done at your own pace, but usually takes 1 to 2 hours. State Museum Planetarium
programs are available at certain times only and with a charge.
The Governor's
Mansion offers a free guided tour on Tuesdays and Thursdays, April through June
and September through October.
The Whitaker Center for Science and The Arts, 222 Market Street, is available
with the Science Center and Grass/Rite Aid IMAX Theater being open Monday
through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Fees are based on what one wants to do at the facility.
The National Civil War Museum is Harrisburg's newest attraction located at
Lincoln Circle at Reservoir Park. The museum attempts to present the Civil War
story without bias to the Union or Confederate causes. It is open Monday through
Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Fees are charged to do the self -guided tour.
